Greenville Baptist Church Ladies Outreach Mission Statement

The purpose of the Greenville Ladies Outreach (GLO) is to sponsor events designed to encourage spiritual growth in the women of Greenville Baptist Church, to provide solid teaching in the truth and principles of Holy Scripture, to enhance opportunities for Christian fellowship and to enable nurturing and mentoring relationships to develop between mature Christian women and younger women in the church.

Our outreach model is based on Ephesians 4: 1-3 and Paul's words to Titus in Chapter 2:3-5. We desire to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and to allow a gifts-based outreach to unfold, under the Lord's direction. We want to always be sensitive to the gifts of our women and ready to include them on the leadership team as outreach opportunities develop and as the Holy Spirit leads.

GLO reports to the Elder Board. It is the strong belief of the leadership team that because we are involved in outreach to women, there must be direct access to pastoral care and counsel, as needed, to ensure our integrity.

The areas of outreach need to develop in a balanced way. When we consider new avenues of outreach, we need to address the areas of fellowship, service, nurture, discipleship and evangelism, both in-reach and outreach, in order to attain the goals of Christian growth and maturity for our women.

This purpose statement will be assessed at least annually by all members of the leadership team to determine whether we are meeting our goals, need to make changes to better meet the needs of our women and/or need to refocus our statement for other reasons.
